The Binge Breaker: 8 Rhetorical Questions

1)     What questions does the text address, explicitly or implicitly? Why are they significant? The questions that the text addresses are “Why are we so addicted to our technology? How can the tech industry change their ways? How can we, the tech users, change our relationship with technology?” These questions are significant because they direct the text to not only technology users, but also technology creators and CEO’s. 2)     Who is the intended audience? The intended audience is not only the technology users, but also the technology creators. Are we going to let technology take over our lives and control every aspect of it? How do we stay connected to people in an age of technology?  Audience: any and all technology users. So, yes, I am a part of the audience.  Giving examples of how technology has already taken over “People text or do email during corporate board meetings. They text and shop and go on Facebook during classes, during presentations, actually during all meetings.”  I think she keeps the audience interested because what she is saying truly applies to all of us. I can relate to going on my phone during class, texting at the dinner table, sitting in my room with my friends all of us on our phones. A Short History of English

Francesca Mauceri Bob Haas ENG 1103-12 January 11, 2018 Francesca’s English Career I have always had a love-hate relationship with English throughout my school career. Some days, I would dread going to English class, knowing we were going to be practicing reading comprehension for our standardized tests at the end of the year. I would drag my feet to class and count down the minutes until I could leave the room, only to realize we had more reading comprehension to do at home. Other days, I would walk to class with my head up, ready to learn, knowing we were going to be doing a writing assignment. I loved the days that we could do creative journal writing in class, or days where we could write about a topic that we would get to choose. My best work is anything that is fiction. I am a storyteller, and I have been ever since I was little. I love being able to create my own world and put it down on paper; an alternate reality that seems so real while I create it.
